There are two ways of starting to work with the MODEM sequencer:
To create a new song, go to the sequencer page and enter the name of your new song in the text box provided. You can't use spaces in the name. Click 'open'. The sequencer will open in a pop-up window.
When you have finished editing, click the save button to save your song for editing or publishing later. If you don't save the song, when you close the sequencer pop-up window, your song will be lost.
Collaboration is what MODEM is all about. Now that you have created your new song in the sequencer and saved it you can publish it for the other users in the MODEM community to listen to, edit and publish their own remixes.
To publish your song, if it is not already open in the sequencer, go to the sequencer page and choose it from the dropdown menu of unpublished songs - click open. Once the sequencer window has popped up, make any final edits, click save, then click publish.
The sequencer page, in the window behind the sequencer popup, will reload as a form for publishing your song. Enter the required details in the form, click publish and your work will be made available to others to hear and use in their own compostions.

You can remix any sequencer song published by any member of the community. To edit or listen click 'play/edit' on a song list of all the sequencer songs made by users in the community. Or go to the sequencer page and choose from the published songs dropdown list and click 'open'. The song will now open in the sequencer.
Once you have edited your version of the song, click 'save' in the sequencer. You can come back later and carry on working. Or if you are ready to publish, click 'Publish'. The sequencer page, in the window behind the sequencer popup, will reload as a form for publishing your song. Enter the required details in the form, click publish and your work will be made available to others to hear and use in their own compostions. The song you used as the basis for your work will automatically be displayed by the system.
